Client Partnerships Manager - Ophthalmology RCM
We are seeking a seasoned Client Services Manager with deep expertise in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and strong knowledge of ophthalmology, optometry, and retina practices. The ideal candidate understands the operational and billing differences across these specialties—including injections, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and office-based visits—and has experience guiding clients through the nuances of ophthalmology revenue cycle workflows.
This role requires a client-focused leader who can balance strategy and execution, adapt to agile client needs, and effectively coordinate with our captive India operations team to deliver exceptional results.
Location: Remote (US)
Reports To: CEO
Travel Requirement: Occasional travel to client sites on a quarterly basis, as needed, along with periodic visits to company headquarters in Deerfield, IL.
Key Responsibilities
● Serve as the primary client-facing leader for ophthalmology, optometry, and retina practices, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
● Apply detailed knowledge of ophthalmology workflows, including:
○ Differences between optometry, ophthalmology, and retina specialties.
○ Injection billing and various treatment modalities (e.g., anti-VEGF therapies).
○ Office visits vs. surgery visits and related revenue cycle implications.
● Develop and manage structured agendas, detailed meeting recaps, and action plans to ensure seamless communication between clients and internal teams.
● Act as the project manager between clients and operations, coordinating workflows, timelines, and deliverables across U.S. and India-based teams.
● Conduct and deliver Customer Business Reviews (CBRs), presenting performance insights, identifying areas for optimization, and aligning on client goals.
● Collaborate closely with the India operations team to manage ophthalmology-specific workflows, address challenges, and ensure continuous improvement.
● Monitor key performance indicators and provide analytical insights tailored to ophthalmology practices, including payer trends, surgical vs. office visit mix, and injection billing efficiency.
● Lead escalations, resolve complex RCM issues, and proactively identify opportunities for service and process enhancement.
● Build strong, long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for growth and expanded services.
Qualifications
● 7+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, with at least 3 years in client services or account management roles.
● Strong understanding of ophthalmology, optometry, and retina practice structures, including workflows for injections, diagnostics, and surgical care.
● Proven success managing RCM for healthcare organizations, ideally within ophthalmology and surgical specialties.
● Experience in high-growth, fast-paced healthcare organizations.
● Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate with offshore operations teams, preferably in India.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret practice data and provide actionable insights.
● Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
● Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
