Mike O’Connell is an accomplished financial executive and licensed CPA with deep expertise in corporate finance, accounting operations, and strategic consulting. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of MBW RCM, where he oversees financial strategy, compliance, and operational performance to support sustainable growth in the healthcare revenue cycle management sector.

In addition to his role at MBW RCM, Michael is the Managing Partner of Moca CPA Group, a Chicago-based firm providing outsourced accounting, tax consultation, and financial advisory services to small and mid-sized businesses. Under his leadership, the firm has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions that empower clients to scale effectively and make data-driven decisions.

Previously, Michael held senior leadership roles at PBG Financial Services, serving as Partner and Principal in Consulting Services, as well as working as a Fractional CFO and Controller for a range of clients. His career also includes financial leadership at Howe Corporation, where he managed global accounting operations and HR functions, and technical accounting roles with Vantage Specialty Chemicals and ViskoTeepak, where he specialized in cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP system optimization.

Michael brings a track record of success in full-cycle financial management, including P&L ownership, audits, forecasting, tax compliance, internal controls, and process improvement. He is recognized for building strong cross-functional teams, implementing innovative business intelligence tools, and aligning finance with long-term organizational strategy.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and French from Davidson College and earned his CPA certification through the College of Lake County. Fluent in French and skilled in leveraging ERP and accounting technologies, he combines technical expertise with strategic vision to drive results.
